A Little Shopping Trip with BIG Savings (Even with my mess-up)!

Since I needed to go out and get diapers for the little one, I thought I would see what finds I could also get. We got everything below for under $50.00, this is even with a screw up that I had done. Our First stop was Rainbow Grocery, they have double coupons on Saturday, but only 5 coupons are allowed to double per transaction.

 At Rainbow I got:

(3)- 2-liters Sierra Mist: these were on sale for 2/$3.00. I had three 55 cent off coupons that doubled to $1.10

(1)- Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal- This was $2.50. I had a $1.00 off coupon that doubled, I got the coupon off the back of a free sample that I had sent for. I believe they still have a free sample available here.

(3) Oscar Mayer Bologna- These were on sale for $1.00 each. I can never leave a deal like that alone. Too bad I didn't have any coupons for these, they are hard to come by. Still a GREAT price for name brand sandwich meat.

On a side-note: we actually use Bologna in sandwiches/subs. We fry it up and the kids melt cheese on them. Very quick and easy meal.

(1) Box mashed potatoes: I only got this with the intention of using it with the chicken that I bought.

(2) Whole Gold-N-Plump Chickens on sale $3.99. I had one coupon for $1.00 off which doubled to $2.00 off of one of the chicken. I had to pay the full $3.99 for the other. Still, I don't think two whole chickens for under $5.00 is a bad deal.

The second stop was Cub Foods (this is where I screwed up)

Transaction One

(1) 5 pound bag of Potatoes $2.79

(6) 2 liters of Pepsi ( I was supposed to get Dr. Pepper) Anyway, these were on sale for $1.00 each

(3) boxes of Cranberry Jello .34 cents each: I wish I had brought my 55 cent/3 coupons that I had but I left them at home, it would have been a sweeter deal then. I found the Jell-O in the discount section of Cub.

Transaction 2

(6) Maruchuan Yakisoba: These were on sale BOGO, these were .99 cents. So, I got two for .99. There was a coupon out earlier, but I already used them on this particular deal. My son loves these and I try to keep a good amount on hand for a quick lunch.

(4) Dr. Pepper 2 liters: This is what I was supposed to get. The deal is these are on sale for 2/$3.00 BUT if you buy four- you get a $5.00 off your next shopping order Catalina. So, these end up being .25 cents a piece. (You are only allowed 1 Catalina per transaction,so if you do this plan on going back a few times)

I found these on Clearance. Normally $9.44, marked down to $2.83. I will mention the further deal on these further down.

Target was the last stop!

(2) Bags of Diapers, One Huggies and One Pampers- I had a $2.00 off coupon for each, making them a little over $7.00 each.

(2) Revlon Age Defying Eye $2.83
(1) Revlon Nail Files
(1) Revlon Nail Polish

The deal and coupons that were used for the Revlon products were- $3.00 off your order wyb Revlon tool AND Beauty Item, plus I had a (2) $2.00 off a Revlon Face product, and then another $2.00 off a Revlon product (this came in the free sample bag Target Facebook offer a while back)

So here comes the breakdown:
$19.44 Spent at Target: About $15.00 dollars of that total was the diapers. That leaves $4.00 spent on everything else. The saving they say was about $11.00 BUT they did not use the original price on the Revlon Age Defying Eye.

Rainbows Total was $10.68 with the savings of $18.93

Cub Transaction #2 Spent $9.40 and got $5.00 back

Cub Transaction #1 (the mess up) Spent $10.24

Overall Total Spent: $49.76.
SAVINGS $43.15+ $5.00=48.15 (give or take a few pennies)

I don't think that was too bad of a trip, I mean sure I could have done better. This was a spur of the moment shopping trip.
