REVIEW: PottyCover - Disposable Toilet Seat Covers For Kids

We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to review PottyCovers. "Cheeky" is just beginning potty training, so these couldn't have come at a better time. As a family with seven kids, we are always on the go. Let's be honest there are some public bathrooms that should be condemned, and we always seem to find these. We won't even speak (at least not to much)  of the infamous "Porta-Potty".

Now, being that "Cheeky" is just learning to use the "Big-boy" potty, he has not mastered balance- which is KEY to using any public restroom. The package we received included 6 covers, and trust me they went fast!

Here is a basic Product Description of PottyCovers:

PottyCover is a disposable toilet seat cover for children that covers the sides and the front of the toilet, to keep away germs at public rest-rooms. It is made of non-woven fabric coated with a layer of plastic, creating a waterproof barrier between the toilet and the child. This product has the largest coverage of all seat covers on the market and for added convenience, each seat cover is individually packaged in a small, easy to open bag that makes it super easy to always keep one or two in a purse or a back pocket.

Using a public rest-room with a young child could be very stressful, but with PottyCovers the whole family can feel safe knowing that even at the filthiest bathrooms they will be protected from germs. We designed this product for kids, but it has become a must-have travel item for many of our adult customers.

A pack of PottyCover sells for $5.99 and it is available on Amazon, Ebay, all Buy Buy Baby stores around the country and at select Bed Bath & Beyond stores.

As you can see, each are individually wrapped in a small packaging. This made it extremely easy to throw just about anywhere to take with you. We were able to throw them into a side-pocket of a backpack, my purse, and even my back pocket for very short walks around the block (just in case the Porta-Potty would be needed).

The PottyCovers are much larger than you would expect coming out of a 7 inch package. They easily unfold with a bit of shaking.

I apologize in advance for the pictures of our toilet, if it helps I spent hours cleaning beforehand. The PottyCovers really cover most of the toilet, where little hands might come in contact with. The picture on the left shows the full length of the front, it nearly touches the floor. And the picture on the right shows the side length, which covers about half.

You can see that even as "Cheeky" grabs the side for balance, his hands are not in contact with the toilet. I LOVE that he is protected by any nasty germs that may be lurking there.

It also helped tremendously that it has an almost "fabric" feel to it and not the scratchy paper that you normally find. I think that "Cheeky" would have been deterred from using them had it not been for the "fabricy" feel.

Again my apologies for the picture of our toilet (and please be nice about the really ugly orange fuzzy cover on our toilet. WHAT was I thinking?!) The PottyCover really does cover almost the whole toilet. Which is great for little kids! Most potty-covers we have tried are either barely cover anything or are so thin that they rip. PottyCovers are thin but very strong and they cover so much of the area!

The only minor problem we encountered was with little ones, they do slide off easily when the child is getting off the toilet. But with assistance this can be eliminated. With older kids/adults, this would not be an issue because our feet can touch the floor.

Overall, I am very pleased with the PottyCovers, and plan on getting more. They make feel at ease when having to use the public restrooms anywhere we go.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
