Reading Horizons Discover Intensive Phonics for Yourself Kit Giveaway

Imagine you're a child who is learning or has just learned to read. Now imagine that you come across this word: makngot. Your job, as a reader, is to look at that word and figure out what it is and what it means.

If you're one of the children who has mastered the ideas behind breaking down a word, evaluating what sound each letter makes, and how that letter fits with the letters beside it, you're probably going to realize that's not really a word. If, on the other hand, you're a child who has reading difficulties, you might not ever figure out that word is not really a word. Sure, you might recognize the letters. You might even be able to put a few of those letters together. But you might never realize that, no matter how much you sound it out or study it, you're never going to be able to turn it into something that makes sense.

There are many programs on the market targeted at children who have difficulty reading.
