Admittedly, I am saddened that this is the last one- I have enjoyed all the short stories that brought me up close to the "unknowns". The eBook 13 British Horror Stories has to be my favorite one of all, which leads to the fact of "the best for last"
13 British Horror Stories showcases a few of my favorite stories that were included in the Ten Tales collections, such as Four Bony Hands and Take Me To St. Roch's. But it also gave me the chance to experience some new favorites like Seagulls and Only A Fool.
The horror in these stories is spooky, creepy, unsettling and sometimes disturbing. The stories are not very violent or gory; however, the stories may not be suitable for young readers without parental guidance.
This collection of short stories includes:
Take me to St Roch's
Seagulls
Never Leave Me
Double Rainbows
Scruples
Through the Tunnel
The Devil You Know
I Dived the Pandora
Four Bony Hands
Beltane
Druid Stones
Burning
Only a Fool
Take a moment and be sure to read the introduction. I found this intriguing as much as the stories themselves. You get to share some of the experience the author went through to get ideas for the stories. Leaving the old saying "fact can be stranger than fiction" very true.
Again as with the other books, I would recommend this book for almost anyone, especially for someone that likes to read a quick story without having hundreds of pages to go through or many characters to wait to have be developed. Each of the short stories can take anywhere from five to twenty minutes to read, easily this can be finished in one night. You can easily check it out for purchase of only 99¢ by heading over to Amazon.
The stories have been previously published in magazines, ezines, anthologies and collections. Some are also included in the Six Scary Tales books. The words, spellings, grammar and punctuation are British English.
