REVIEW: Revenge of the Vegetarian. A Humorous Spin on the World of Vegetarianism

Have you ever gotten into a "debate" with a devout vegetarian? I can let you in on a little secret, if you haven't DON'T. That could be more life threatening than eating any kind of meat the rest of natural born life. If you have, well what a brave {and probably not the smartest} soul you are.


I have family members that will fight to the death their belief in vegetarianism. There are times where I really believe that they would only break their vows to "bite" someones head off if they dared disagree. Then  I have family {including myself} that would never resort to eating only "rabbit kibble" for the rest of our lives.


I was able to read and review Revenge of the Vegetarian: A Humorous Spin on the World of Vegetarianism by Jim Tiberry {and he had a little help from Psychic Patricia Van Winkle}. Personally, I loved the book and enjoyed reading the whole book in one sitting. Whether you are a Vegetarian or a Meat Eater will not matter if you have the same outside the box humor that Jerry Tilberry portrays in this book.


The next step after reading the book was to hand it off for my veggie loving in-laws to see what they thought. What came next left me speechless, when I thought they would go off the deep end and beat me with the nearest Tofu block, they actually found that they loved the book too.


Revenge of the Vegetarian: A Humorous Spin on the World of Vegetarianism was able to touch on all the debatable issues and give them a funny spin to them, while still validating one or both sides. It really is a work of art, when you think about it. 


My favorite parts of the book were the interviews with all the famous dead vegetarians, through psychic Patricia Van Winkle. I will say that this part of the book covers the whole timeline, from Jesus to Ed Begley, Jr.  I enjoyed the definitions and categories of Vegetarians, really I had no idea that there were so many different kinds of Veggie Munchers. 


The whole family enjoyed the horoscope section of the book, oddly enough most of the entries were almost dead on! I am a Scorpio, and I am still trying to figure why I had to end up with having the Monkey-Butt Squash as my Ruling Vegetable. There is NO way the family will ever let me live that one down.


If you have a sense of humor about these kinds of things, I recommend reading Revenge of the Vegetarian: A Humorous Spin on the World of Vegetarianism. Or if you know of a special "Veggie Muncher" that won't club you to death with the nearest Zucchini, share it with them.
