REVIEW: Blue Avocado's "Big Chil" Insulated Reusable Tote-Bag From Reuseit.com

I was generously offered the chance to review Blue Avocado's "Big Chil" tote bag from Reuseit.com  This spacious reusable tote has four large outside storage pockets located on the outside of the tote. I was able to easily fill these pockets with store ads, notebooks, pens, my personal water-bottle, extra water or juice bottles for the kids, and a few Pull-ups for the littlest one. This is one of the features I loved the most, because it took away the need for bringing a bulky diaper-bag along for shopping trips.

There is a pvc-free lining that helps to keep any contents hot or cold for up to three hours! We were able to easily pack up a picnic lunch for the day, and head out for an afternoon of fun.

    Features and benefits of the "Big Chil"
    • Replaces plastic shopping bags and paper lunch bags
    • Insulated – pvc-free liner keeps contents hot/cold for up to 3 hours
    • Zip-top closure
    • Holds 3 gallons
    • Made from Polyester and recycled materials {50%  Repreve recycled fibers from plastic bottles}
    • 1% of sales donated to global women's micro-entrepreneurship

    The biggest bonus of the large insulated tote is that it is very easy-to-clean. When  I first used it at the grocery store, I was able to easily fit 3 whole frozen chickens inside. I now never have to worry about any kind of meat "bleeding" or "seeping".

    The only time I use plastic bags at a store was for wrapping up meat. I hated having to throw bags in the wash or just plain throw them away. The Big Chil is perfect for my shopping trips, while other insulated bags/totes I have used fell apart after one use, ripped before I could use it, or was too small to carry much- this is where the Big Chil surpasses them.

Another very nice feature is that the handles of the Big Chil tote bag are very comfortable and secure. I no longer feel the pain of thin plastic handles tearing through my hands, or thin straps that begin ripping as they dig deep in shoulders.  The handles of the Big Chil are soft, almost padded. They are sewn securely to the bag, with no signs of stress after the dozens of uses by our family.

The Big Chil is 12.5"H x 21"W x 9”D, this is much larger than most that I have at home. The Big Chil has so many features that I love. They thought of  every detail possible with this tote bag, that would make it  convenient for any owner.  I am able to attach other bags to the Big Chil by using the d-ring and a clip-hook.

The Big Chil can also be folded and secured with the wooden oblong bead {seen in the picture below} and a thin loop of fabric. All you do is slip it through, making it small enough to store in your glove compartment or in any small area you find. My purse is huge, so I tend to fold it and slide it in.

Blue Avocado's "Big Chil" tote bag

The Big Chil is one of favorite reusable bags that I have. It has been adaptable to almost every situation that I have needed a bag for. The uses are only limited by your own mind.
