We were recently afforded the opportunity to review the SMOOBEE~ Magic No Cry Brush. Magic would be only one of the words I would use to describe this brush, this brush is also a MIRACLE!
My 13 year old daughter and I both have long hair, which is brutal in the mornings to brush through. For myself, I am almost brought to tears trying to get through the tangles without tearing out my hair by the fistfuls. My hair is becoming thinner in my older age, so every strand is precious to me.
My daughter can be heard in the early morning hours, as a family we know that she is attempting to brush her hair. As a teenager, her hair is the most important part of her daily "fashion statement" to the world. Let me say that neither of us are pleasant in the mornings, whether it be ripping out the precious strands or the pain, it is NO way to start each and every day.
This is where the results of using the Smoobee brush become a miracle. We have gone through dozens and dozens of different brushes that we had high hopes for. Honestly, the results were poor, so the Smoobee started with the same reputation as the other brands of brushes.
It took only one swipe of the brush the first morning to show us what a "gem" we had found! The first swipe produced no tears, snags, or choice words! That in itself is priceless. Considering it only a fluke, I continued with brushing my hair and the results were consistently the same. In the end, it only took minutes to brush through my hair and no pain or fistfuls of hair dangling in the brush. My hair also felt smoother and softer than usual.
My daughter was going to be the determining factor on the "magic" of this Smoobee. I cringed that morning, as I watched her grumpily and sluggishly walk into the bathroom. I waited for the battle to begin, knowing at any moment the shouting and "ouches" would begin. I was amazed as she exited the bathroom finished with her daily routine, and not a peep had been screamed. Seeing a smile on her face was by far unusual, it actually frightened the other kids to see her like that.
I knew then and there, that this was the brush that we had been searching for. After these results, I wanted to know "Why" and "How" the Smoobee worked the way it did. I became obsessed in figuring out what made the Smoobee work so well.
First, I noticed the design of the brush. This is obvious just by looking at it. Smoobee used the ingenuity of two different kinds of bristles in the making of the brush.

Please excuse the hair still entangled in the brush. Really, those few strands are a testimonial to how little hair gets caught up. On any regular day or regular brush, our brush would look like a massive hairball.
The plastic longer bristles make sure you are able to get through thicker hair with ease. You can see that each of these plastic-like bristles is encircled by an army of smaller stiffer bristles.
The Smoobee base {or in our case the purple section of the brush and handle} is made of real wood. The Smoobee's handle is ergonomically comfortable while gently brushing at different angles. You can see from a side view how the shorter bristles completely surround the longer single bristles.
The brush itself is solid and heavier than other generic brushes we have used. This makes it nice to be able to only use gentle pressure to glide through any tangles, rather than exerting too much force and causing the handle or base to bend. This bending has caused some of our other brushes to weaken and then snap or crack, this is not a concern with the Smoobee.
The bristles of the Smoobee brush are held in place by a ceramic cushion. This feature is great as it keeps the bristles from collapsing while applying even slight pressure while brushing.
You would think that Smoobee had done enough in customizing a brush that would make any girl, young or old, squeal with delight and relief. Smoobee took it a step further and added a fun feature of being able to Bedazzle your own Smoobee!
How much fun would any little girl have being able to design their own brush to their liking. Smoobee offers a variety of packages containing 52 self-sticking jewels. The gems once applied stay firmly in place, but if the brush is handled to roughly the stickers could loosen and fall off. This could also happen when a little one decides to remove them. What I like is that if by chance the stickers do come off, it does not damage the brush in any way.
Keep in mind that there will be a sticky residue behind, which will collect all kinds of fuzz, dust, and what-not. You can easily fix this by using a damp cloth to remove the residue. Do not submerge the brush in water, this could cause damage to the Smoobee brush.

This Smoobee brush exceeded our expectations and we will continue to recommend the Smoobee to the rest of our family and friends. If you are looking for a brush that will turn your screaming little morning "ogre" into a smiling Cheshire Princess, then Smoobee is your answer. The price of this Smoobee brush is really worth the calm and peace it will bring to yourself or little ones.

I don't have any girls, but I'm thinking I want this for me. I love having my hair long, but it will literally mat up overnight if I forget to braid it before bed. Every day I tear up and make up potty words while I brush it out.
That sounds exactly my daughter and I every morning. I honestly had no plans on using it, at first. I am so glad that I did. I used to braid my hair, it is getting to thin now to hold up through the night, so I gave up on it and suffered through the mess in the morning.
Having something that my daughter loves and to stop the choice words coming from her evey morning, was the real selling point. I honestly, could not punish her for the words because I knew exactly what she was going through. I am so glad those days are now behind us.
Thank you for your comment.
Now this is a good brush to have on hand for those days when your daughters hair becomes tangled. I have a few of them myself. Love Them!
This looks like an awesome brush!! My girls and I are both very tender headed, so finding a great brush is super hard!! I may have to check into this one! Thanks!!
